Get to know us!! We are a team of 8, brought together by our shared passion for STEM and gender equality 🤍
Amber, a current sophmore at Singapore American School, can be found solving math problems and fixing robot wires when she’s not folding origami stars or listening to music. Her experience at math competitions including AIME, AMC, and MATHCOUNTS has deepened her appreciation for STEM and allowed her to foster a strong passion for INTEGIRLS’ mission. As the Head of Outreach, she hopes to empower female and non-binary students through securing sponsorships, establishing partnerships, and connecting with leading female voices in STEM fields.
Lauren is a 10th grader at UWCSEA Dover, with a strong passion in biology, computer science, and the intersections which connect the two. As a national climber, Lauren has developed an interest in using computer science for injury prevention, hoping to harness her problem-solving skills to benefit the sporting community around her. As co-chapter head of Integirls Singapore, Lauren aims to create an environment where girls feel supported to pursue their love for STEM without the fear of discrimination. She hopes more girls around Singapore can discover their own passion and purpose in this field. Besides STEM, Lauren loves bouldering, playing the guitar, and listening to jazz music.
Fun Fact: Lauren has met 2 Olympic gold medallists. (Both are climbers!)
Wan Shuen is a J1 student at Nanyang JC. She loves the struggle that comes with doing math, the process of getting stuck, trying again and finally experiencing that satisfying moment when everything clicks. Other than math, Wanshuen also enjoy playing the guitar and singing (she loves jamming with people!)
Through INTEGIRLS Singapore, Wanshuen hopes to connect with more people who share the same curiosity and passion, with the aim to support and empower each other. Wanshuen is excited to grow together in this community!
Jenny is a current junior at Singapore American School. She loves math, both in the competitions, having participated in AIME and HMMT, but also more recently number theory and proof writing. She recently had the opportunity to explore number theory at PROMYS the past summer. Jenny joined InteGirls because she wants other young girls to have the chance to discover that same love for STEM, and hopes to use her role in media to make this community feel more tight-knit and real. Outside of math, Jenny is a robotics (yes, double the nerd) and speech (talking for sport) kid, and has a love for bread that genuinely rivals her love for math.
Fun fact: Jenny is a regular at all coffee shops in a 2k radius from me
Aksharra is a 11th grader at UWCSEA East who enjoys exploring the intersection between science and technology. She's rather interested in neuroscience and biotechnology and using research to simplify complex concepts. Through INTEGIRLS, she hopes to help make STEM spaces more inclusive for all and providing a platform for one to explore STEM! As Head of Logistics, she hopes to create smooth, well-organised events that allow participants to focus on problem-solving and collaboration.
Fun Fact: Aksharra has driven a Formula 1 car!
Nayoon is a 10th grader at UWCSEA Dover, passionate about both biology and chemistry - and biochemistry, where they meet. She has always enjoyed learning, but also has a love for sharing her knowledge with others. Nothing makes Nayoon happier than being around other curious people, which is part of why she joined INTEGIRLS! Through INTEGIRLS, Nayoon hopes to have a direct hand in creating a more inclusive environment for anyone looking to explore STEM.
Fun fact: Nayoon has a small dent in her forehead!
Stephanie Goutama is a J1 student at Raffles Institution. As someone who has stuck to humanities for majority of their school life, she is thrilled to have the chance to learn more about the different aspects of STEM. Other than chemistry, Stephanie enjoys learning biology and mathematics. Her decision to join this community of like-minded peers is rooted in one core value: service. Through her organisational skills and new perspectives, she aspires to work with the team to contribute to Integirls’s cause.
Stephanie believes STEM should be accessible to everyone, and hopes that more girls across the globe can use this opportunity to experience the joy of learning science. Besides her passion for science, reading and gymming is how she passes her time.
Fun fact: Stephanie is allergic to grass
Annie is a student at Singapore American School who loves fencing, model united nations, cello, and ice skating. When she was introduced to fun science for the first time as a sixth grader, it sparked her passion for STEM (specifically the science and math aspects). Ever since then she has wanted to spread my passion to other girls out there. Annie aspires to foster an environment where girls can learn about the things they want without being judged.
